As a Pansexual, Femme, Person of color, with ADHD, I have a passion for social justice for all. I have, and always will, continue educating and building space for minorities and neurodivergent individuals. Focusing on the performing arts, event management, and marketing.
About me
My name is ACTin' Up. I am Seattle's "Voluptuous Vixen" And "Thee Unshod Fae" My pronouns are She/They. I am a Burlesquer, pole performer, Creative, Activist, event producer and Entrepreneur based in Seattle. I have been active in many forms of performing art since before I can remember. Alongside the arts, I have a heavy passion for DEIA, Social Justice, and Marketing.
Experience and Qualifications
Dance
I am a burlesque performer, pole dancer, and actress have been dancing and training dance my whole life. In early 2024 I became a producer of all BIPOC Pole and Burlesque variety shows Like Melanated Pole Fest and Bold Bougie and Beautiful. As well as a new Bi-Monthly variety show with my drag child Handsy Called ACTin' Handsy: A Hand at New Acts. Dedicated for new performers in the area and beyond.
I am trained in over 10 styles of movement and am continuing my learning Journey to gain even more styles to add to the rupture. My home studio for training for the past 2 years has been Positive Spin Pole Fitness.
I have choreographed shows for Children's Musical theatre as well as Burlesque & Pole perfromances for myself and others on commission.
Theatre
Theatre is something I've had a deep love for since a young age. I interned at the Academy of Children's Theatre Tri-cities as a summer and school year intern for 4 years as well as doing choreography for several shows and performing in many of their stage plays.
I have been active in the theatre scene on and off for the past 18 years. Working with places such as the Academy of Children Theatre, Rude Mechanicals, Highschool Productions, and private projects throughout Seattle.
Teaching
I am a current dance teacher at mutiple studios throughout the Pacific Northwest inlcuding my own virtual studio, ACTin' Up's Performance Acamdey
I have taught and or assisted in various theater and dance camps for multiple organizations for the past 10 years. Including ACT, RDC & Rising stars
Certifications
I have a certification in Organizational Diversity Equity and Inclusion
Certified Behavioral Technician in Washington State
I graduated pole leadership training program at Positive Spin Pole Dance Fitness -SEA in November 2024
